Selkirk Labs is the independent R&D division of Selkirk Sport. By application only, Labs Membership promotes collaboration, player involvement, and beta testing of the next generation of Pickleball paddles.

Selkirk Labs is not for everyone. It is for a select group of individuals who care about trying the latest technology, receiving early access and shaping the future of Pickleball.

For the everyday player looking for their next paddle, we recommend looking at our Selkirk Sport paddles for high-performance equipment and our SLK by Selkirk brand geared for the next generation of players. Many successful technologies from Selkirk Labs will be introduced in the future in the Selkirk and SLK mainline offerings.

Selkirk Labs Membership is by application only. To become a Member, please start by completing the Selkirk Labs Application Form.

After you've applied and been accepted into Selkirk Labs, you can make your first paddle purchase from selkirklabs.com. Users who apply but have not yet made a paddle purchase will not be eligible for early access releases.

In addition to participating in the research and development of new products, and being first to know about the latest Selkirk designs, technology, and paddle concepts, Selkirk Labs Members enjoy exclusive access to purchase first release, limited production, and beta paddles, as well as the latest Selkirk Labs gear, which is available to Members only.

You are eligible for Labs Member Early Access after you have successfully applied, been accepted, and completed your first paddle purchase.

Just like concept cars, Selkirk Labs Projects enable Selkirk to research and develop concept Paddles, with the support of the Pickleball community. Selkirk Labs Members will have the opportunity to participate in the development of new paddles and provide feedback on new technology.

As part of a Project, Members will be encouraged to test beta paddles and provide feedback on the latest technology in order to continuously improve Selkirk’s paddle technology, and to help decide which technology to introduce into the main Selkirk product lines. Please note that we are unable to provide estimates on when or which technologies will be introduced into our main product lines.

The majority of Projects will have limited availability and may have a lead time. Depending on feedback, popularity, and supply chain factors, each Project will be offered to Members for a specific time frame. Some projects will only be available for a short period of time, while others may be available on a consistent basis. Please note that we are unable to provide estimates on when/if projects will be discontinued or when/if Labs technology will be part of Selkirk’s main product lines.

Some Projects may offer Members the opportunity to purchase additional paddle shapes and colors that are not available as part of Selkirk’s main product lines. Please note that we are unable to provide estimates on when/which projects will have additional shapes and colors added/available, and whether these new shapes and colors will become part of Selkirk’s main product lines.

Yes, unless otherwise stated, all Labs Project concept paddles come with a 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Please review the lists below to learn what is and is not covered under this warranty:

What is covered under the 2-year warranty?
Visible manufacturer defects, verifiable via a photograph or video, such as:
• Handle breaks
• Loose or cracking edgeguards
• Paddle face cracks
• Loose or damaged end caps

• Normal wear and tear, including graphic wear/fading
• Rattling (as it does not affect performance)
• Damage caused by hits to the ground
• Abuse/neglect
• Dead spots

Yes! Unless otherwise stated, all Labs Project concept paddles are USA Pickleball approved for tournament play.
